Somerscience festival
Selected pupils in KS3 visited the Somerscience festival in Castle Cary on Monday 1st May.
The pupils had a fantastic time listening to inspiring talks from scientists and participating in various hands-on activities and workshops.
Three of our pupils participated in the goIT Somerscience challenge run by the tech company TCS; the competition involved designing an app to help solve climate change and pupils had to pitch their idea to TCS. Our team got shortlisted down to the final 12 teams. An awards ceremony was held at the festival and our pupils came 3rd in the competition, which is a fantastic achievement.
Huge well done to William Krech, Michael Dey (Year 7) and Theo Emmens-Green (Year 8) for all their hard work!
