Primary Schools Maths Festival
This year the Maths Department were celebrating their 21st Primary Maths Festival and hosted nine teams of four Year 5 and 6 pupils from local primary schools in a day of fun mathematical activities.
The day began with a poster competition based on the theme of ‘Interesting Numbers’ and the teachers were really impressed by the variety of ideas the pupils displayed. Teams then took part in a fast-paced mathematical relay race before a well-earned lunch break. In the afternoon pupils tackled more problem solving and practical tasks.
Congratulations to the teams from St Joseph & St Teresa Catholic Primary School and Kilmersdon Primary School for producing the best posters and also to Wells Cathedral Prep School for winning the overall competition.
We look forward to welcoming all of the schools back again next year!
