Art Exhibition Visit to GBS Fine Art, Wells
Year 7-9 Art Scholars and Lower Sixth Art pupils visited GBS Fine Art, in Wells, to see an exhibition of the work by the contemporary landscape painter and photographer, Jeffrey Blondes.
Giles Baker-Smith, founding director of the gallery, talked to pupils informatively about the varied work on display as well as the interesting practice of the artist, who he has worked with on photographic projects around the world. Jeffrey Blondes has spent the last fourteen years ‘devoted to making 24, 52, even 104 hour High Definition videos’ and ‘his preoccupation has been the intersection of landscape and time.’
This exciting exhibition of his work was an invaluable opportunity for the pupils to see the work first hand and experience a range of contemporary, international art work right on their doorstep!
