Year 7 watch Arabian Nights
Year 7 pupils enjoyed an uplifting and heartening trip to the Bristol Old Vic Theatre to see a modern retelling of Arabian Nights.
Fizzing with warmth and magic, it had all of the storytelling elements they hoped for: winged horses, luminous spined serpents, jolly songs, engaging characters and simple, whizzy, set ideas transporting the audience to different locations. The pupils loved the hilarious narcissistic tyrant-king, and his enabling sidekick who entertained them with bags of physical comedy, but most of all they all fell in love with brave Scheherazade who plots to save the women of the land and transform the selfish king with her marvellous powers of storytelling.
Everyone was on their best behaviour and it was the perfect way to end the Advent Term!
