Defne wins Salvi Harp Competition
Defne (Upper Sixth) competed in the Salvi Harp Competition in Manchester on Saturday 20th January.
The competition was open to players up to the age of 30, and we are pleased to share that Defne won! As part of her prize, she will be performing a recital at the Salvi Studio in London.
Alex Laing, Director of Music, commented on Defne’s success; “A fabulous achievement. This competition is open to young harpists up to the age of 30 – to win it at the age of 17 is incredible and testament to Defne’s hard work, skill, creativity and to the fabulous teaching she receives from Ruth Faber here at Wells.”
