Children’s Mental Health Week
Both the Prep and Senior School acknowledged Children’s Mental Health Week through tutor time activities and mindfulness workshops.
On Wellbeing Wednesday, pupils in the Senior School had a choice of five activities, devised by the Upper Sixth Welfare and Wellbeing Captains, to complete in their tutor groups. Underpinned by research that proves they can help support positive mental health, the activities included creating a drawing that represents positive mental health and wellbeing or doing some mindful colouring, going on a mindful walk, doing a random act of kindness, having a chat with someone different and asking them open questions, and listing five things pupils are grateful for.
On Friday, pupils in the Prep School attended mindfulness workshops in Cedars Hall before a mental health assembly at the end of the day. They were encouraged to talk about their feelings, to focus on their breathing and to release stress.
