Event on the Lawn
Head of School Dimity (Upper Sixth) wrote the following account, accompanied by photos taken by School Governor Andrew Gummer, of this year’s spectacular Event on the Lawn:
It’s official – Event on the Lawn 2024 was a huge success! From the Prep School to the Sixth Form, thirty of Wells’ best singers and bands lit up the stage on Saturday night in front of hundreds of our mini-festival’s guests, all to raise funds for Wells’ partner schools in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Overall, between two stages and a silent disco (which for the very first time featured live pupil DJs!), over 12 hours of music were performed; and between ticket sales, the raffle, the stalls, the food vendors, our silent disco, and more, we hope to have raised thousands of pounds for this wonderful cause.
The EotL Team, made up of Heads of School, Prefects and Pop Captains would like to give a huge thank you to each and every person who volunteered to help make the night as memorable as it was. We would also like to thank everyone who bought a ticket and came along – we hope you had as much fun as we did!
