World Book Day
The Prep School were so excited for this year’s World Book Day that some pupils began preparing early! Year 4 used their creativity skills and motivation to complete an exciting homework challenge; they were given an ordinary wooden spoon and had to turn it into an ‘extraordinary’ book character.
On the big day, children from the Nursery to Year 6 dressed up as a vast array of characters, and the staff got involved too! The day began with older pupils stepping into the role of reading buddies to help the younger years with their reading, then throughout the day everyone took part in a number of activities including workshops with illustrator Jenna Herman. Jenna, together with Lucy Reynolds, created the book We Are Family which celebrates the way different species are born and grow up in all kinds of families and the journey everyone undertakes to find their place in the world. The Pre-Prep then rounded off the day with a book sale!
