Lower Sixth Chemistry practical

Lower Sixth Chemists are using lesson time to investigate the chlorination of 2-methylpropan-2-ol, which is one of the required practicals for their A level course. They have learnt the theory about the reactions of tertiary alcohols with halogenating agents in previous lessons and are now exploring this reaction practically. They all mastered new skills and techniques using a separating funnel and will purify the organic product using distillation.
