University of Southampton Maths Challenge
Each year over 1000 pupils enter the University of Southampton Mathematics Challenge in which pupils work on a series of problems in their own time, having to produce full written solutions to each problem without guidance from their teachers. The amount of time pupils need to spend on this is significant and should not be underestimated! This year the theme for the problems was Zodiac signs.
We are pleased to share that in the Senior Challenge, Lucille (Year 10) was awarded a third place prize, in the Junior Challenge Michael and Zino (Year 8) were awarded second place prizes and Shanna (Year 7) was awarded first place – an outstanding achievement!
