Musical Extravaganza
We were treated to a wonderful array of the School’s musical talent at Thursday 13th June’s Extravaganza Concert.
Cedars Hall was packed to the rafters with parents, pupils and guests for a hugely enjoyable two hours of music, featuring music from films (Jurassic Park, Moana, Sister Act 2) to Pop & Rock (Led Zeppelin, Havana, Stevie Wonder, Carol King) to Jazz (‘Bewitched’, ‘New York, New York’) to classics by Offenbach, Vaughan Williams, Grieg, Purcell, Shostakovitch and Uren. It even included a new composition by one of our amazing Graduate Music Assistants, Joe Goodlad!
Overall 11 ensembles performed with over 200 children across both the Prep and Senior Schools, as well as a team of 17 members of staff. It also marked the final Extravaganza concert for departing member of Music staff, Jack Coward, whose jazz ensemble have long been the show-stopping end to these terrific concerts, and gratitude was shown for all his terrific work.
Hats off to all the pupils who performed so brilliantly.
