Florence awarded Bulkeley-Evans Scholarship
Many congratulations to Florence (Upper Sixth) on her receipt of HMC’s Bulkeley-Evans Scholarship. The Scholarship will enable Florence to spend a gap year in Sierra Leone, about which she will come back to talk to our Sixth Form and write a report for HMC.
Mrs Rowley, Head of Sixth Form, comments, “I’m thrilled that Florence has been successful in her application to the Bulkeley-Evans HMC Scholarship fund. These grants are highly sought after and recipients of the awards report on how the scholarships help them to become involved in projects which make a significant difference to the lives of others, as well as being tremendously rewarding for themselves. Florence’s plans to return to Sierra Leone show her determination to make a difference after having visited the country as part of the School’s Sierra Leone Project. On her return she will be extremely well placed to share her experiences and encourage another generation of Wellensians to participate in both the Sierra Leone Project and the Bulkeley-Evans HMC Scholarship fund.”
