Physics Olympics
On Wednesday 26th June, two teams of Year 7 pupils travelled to Millfield to take part in the ‘Physics Olympics’, an event supported by the Institute of Physics.
The Olympics involved challenging practical problem-solving tasks and a Fermi quiz with some fiendishly difficult estimates that even the teachers struggled to complete! Competing for team Rubin were Elspeth, Elin, Kukhanya and Sophie-Louise, and team Quinn were represented by Clementine, Mimi, Francesca and Eryn. Both teams did well against the 14 rival teams from across the South West, with team Quinn winning the Gravitational Potential Energy Challenge and coming second overall in the competition.
All the pupils were fantastic competitors and a credit to the School.
