Primary Schools Maths Festival
This year, the Maths Department celebrated their 22nd Primary Maths Festival by hosting 11 teams of four Year 5 and 6 pupils from local primary schools in a day of fun mathematical activities.
The day began with a poster competition based on the theme of ‘Twelve’ and they were really impressed by the variety of ideas the pupils displayed. Teams then took part in a fast-paced mathematical relay race before a well earned lunch break. In the afternoon, pupils tackled more problem solving and practical tasks. There was an amazing level of teamwork throughout the day and the final scores were really close. Congratulations to the team from Hugh Sexey Middle School for winning the overall competition!
We look forward to welcoming all of the schools back again next year.
