Year 10 Rugby reach National Plate Quarter-Final
In November, the Year 10 Rugby team travelled to Ivybridge Community College for Round 3 of the Schools Cup National Plate Competition.
It was a physical game but Wells took the game to the opponents in the first half with a well-executed performance to take a 19-0 lead into half time. In the second half, Wells struck first to extend their lead and were dominant for the majority of the second half. A late rally from Ivybridge set a few nerves going as they scored two late tries to make the final score 24-10 to Wells.
Mr Meehan, Head of Rugby, commented: “This marks another special Rugby performance this season. Reaching the Quarter-Finals of a National Competition is a first in our history and is a huge credit to the talent and commitment demonstrated by the pupils in this team. Mr Hunt and I are incredibly proud of this team and are looking forward to seeing them perform again in the next round.”
