U14 Regional Hockey success
On Friday 29th November, the U14 Girls Hockey team played in the regional tournament they qualified for last Term after winning the County Tournament.
Their first game was a fast-paced draw against Dauntsey’s, followed by three wins against Pate’s Grammar, Clayesmore and Mounts Bay. This saw the girls win their pool on goal difference against Dauntsey’s with both teams going into the knockout round. Here they faced Cheltenham Ladies College, keeping the score at 0-0 until the final 30 seconds when unfortunately the opposition scored from a short corner. Nonetheless, the girls kept their heads up in the playoffs, beating Hereford Cathedral and drawing against Dauntsey’s again in a game that came down to shuffles with Wells ultimately coming out on top. This meant the team ended up in a very respectable fourth position.
Mrs Pritchard commented that it was, “A long day of Hockey with many highlights for all the girls. I was very proud of them!”
