Frazer brings Year 4 learning to life
In their topic lessons about electricity, Year 4 pupils learnt about circuits and were given the challenge of designing their own imaginary machines. In English, they then used the key features of explanation texts to write instructions for their imaginary machines. Frazer M showed our CARE values (creativity, aspiration, responsibility and endeavour) in action by taking his learning home and actually making the product which his imaginary machine would have created – his ‘Fiz Up’ chocolate bar.
Frazer said, “To make my chocolate bar, first I had to buy four giant chocolate bars. Then, I cracked them all up in a pan and melted them all on the stove. Then I added my secret ingredients! It all went in a mould in the fridge. After that, I wrapped them in gold foil. My brother designed a label and I printed them out. In the last bar I wrapped, I also added a Golden Ticket just like Willy Wonka!“
At Wells we encourage our pupils to “Be What You Are” and we are so impressed by the way Frazer’s initiative, enthusiasm and dedication to bringing his idea to life embodies this. He has shown us the amazing things that can happen when you believe in your creativity and talents. Well done, Frazer!
