Somerset Schools Golf Championships
On Wednesday 19th March seven Wells golfers played in the Somerset Schools Golf Championships at Weston-Super-Mare Golf Club.
It was a perfect day for Golf with no wind and the sun shining. The event had its biggest entry with 119 young golfers from across the county ready to take on the challenge of the links golf course. As the crowds grew around the first tee, our pupils managed their nerves and headed off. It was lovely to see their enthusiasm and love for the game no matter what they scored. In particular congratulations must go to Year 11 pupil Josh B who shot a gross 76, playing off a handicap of 12, putting him as the overall Nett winner for the Championships. A superb round of Golf by him and his best ever, what a day to do it!
