Luca leads music workshops for refugees
Luca W (Year 11) led a music workshop at Every Child Protected Against Trafficking (ECPAT) over Easter for a group of 12 young men from a refugee background. ECPAT is an international charity that works with young people who have been (or at risk of) being trafficked.
Luca played for them, and one young person who is known for being reserved stood up and started conducting. He taught a small group guitar and the group was able to put a song together to perform back at the end. There were a couple of young people who the staff noted had never smiled before like that, showcasing the power of music.
Luca continued his generosity by donating two guitars, which is the beginning of a music library for the project. Well done, Luca.
