Caspar awarded Young Historian Project 2025 prize

Caspar W (Upper Sixth) has just been awarded the Runners-Up Prize in the Senior section of the Young Historian Project 2025. This is the national competition for Sixth Form historians run across Britain by the Historical Association and Head of History Mr Eldridge says alongside Oxbridge essay competitions it’s about as prestigious an award as a Sixth Form historian can get! The competition was sponsored by the Spirit of Normandy Trust and had to be on an aspect of Britain’s involvement in the Second World War. Caspar submitted an essay entitled What best explains the British victory at the Battle of Kohima and Imphal?

Peter Lankester, Vice Chairman of the Spirit of Normandy, wrote:

His essay was an excellent analysis of the Battles of Kohima and Imphal, well written and compelling.”
