Be A Mathematician for a Day
On Saturday 8th November, fifteen Year 6 pupils attended a day of mathematical enrichment to see what it would be like to be a Specialist Mathematician at Wells. The day, run by Senior School Head of Maths Mrs Connock and Mr Murdoch, was filled with magical tricks, large prime number investigation and algebraic proofs.
Mrs Connock commented, “We were very impressed with the enthusiasm and resilience shown by the children. They were brilliant at spotting patterns, generalising them and dealing with some challenging algebra. We are looking forward to our next day for Year 5s in March.”
