World Maths Day 2026
On Wednesday 25th March, the Prep School celebrated World Maths Day with a half day of ‘non normal maths’. The activities that the children undertook ranged from:
- A maths trail around Jocelyn, Jocelyn Lawn, the playground and the adventure playground.
- Tessellations, rotations and reflections.
- Easter themed tangrams
- World Live Mathletics Competition
The online Mathletics Competition required the children to join other children from around the world to answer as many mental arithmetic maths questions as possible. These increased in difficulty within their 10 preset levels on live mathletics, with each correct answer contributing 1 point to their total score.
As a School, the best scoring Year group was Year 4 who came 219th in the world and 47th in the UK; well done!
As for our House competition, Drake House were looking for a ‘three-peat’ and to hold onto their title from 2023 and 2024. Mr Ward can reveal that the results are as follows:
1st: Livingstone
2nd: Drake
3rd: Nelson
4th: Scott
Congratulations to all in Livingstone House for winning this year’s competition!
