The Colin Currie Group

Wells percussionists experienced an inspiring residency with The Colin Currie Group in early January, pictured here with head of percussion, Jayne Obradovic. Led by British percussionist Colin Currie and comprising the UK’s finest percussionists, the Colin Currie Group is a virtuosic percussion ensemble that specialises in the music of Steve Reich. Formed for a performance at the 2006 BBC Proms in London, since which they have performed across the world from Amsterdam to Tokyo, the Colin Currie Group is warmly endorsed by Reich, who has described Colin Currie as “one of the greatest musicians in the world today” (Herald Scotland, March 2013).
