Leading Roles for Old Wellensians

The Wells brass department was delighted to hear that following a rigorous audition process, Old Wellensian horn specialist, Alison Balls, has been offered and accepted the full time position of Principal Horn in The Kiel Philharmonic Orchestra in Germany. Furthermore, another Old Wellensian horn student, Elizabeth Tocknell, who left Wells in 2012, has been performing regularly with The Philharmonia Orchestra London. In her final year at Wells Elizabeth reached the Brass Final of BBC Young Musician of the Year and was awarded a scholarship to The Royal College of Music.
