An Evening of Wonder

On Monday evening, head of academic enrichment, Charlotte Farmer and drama teacher Shelley Deans, took 19 students in Year 9 to watch the gala preview of Wonder, the newly released film adaptation of the 2012 New York Times bestseller of the same name, by R.J. Palacio. Wells Film Centre put on the special gala performance as part of their 25 year celebrations. The audience were treated to a celebration slice of cake, and Wells trumpeter Luke Lane was asked to play a trumpet fanfare in advance of the showing. Students thoroughly enjoyed the film, having been reading the novel as part of their academic enrichment programme this term.
