Lower Sixth Enrichment Interviews

On Friday afternoon, 116 Lower Sixth pupils took part in 20 minute enrichment interviews aimed at providing key life experience and preparing them for the world of work.

Preceded by a presentation to introduce pupils to the interview process, and supported by a comprehensive workbook, each pupil had 15 minutes to present why they would be an ideal candidate for a potential role, before being critiqued by a formal interviewer.

30 volunteers from a wide range of business sectors including accountancy, HR, construction, management consultancy, the voluntary sector, retail and printing generously gave of their time, spending the afternoon interviewing three or four pupils each, before contributing to a valuable post -session review and wash up.

One of the interviewers said, “Every pupil I met was ready and prepared, took the process seriously and behaved in a manner that does the school great credit. I hope that every single one of them took away at least one thing from the process that they can work on.

Another added, “It was both a delight and privilege to be involved in such a great experience. The students we interviewed were very impressive.”
