Dragons

Here Be Dragons!

Pupils in the Pre-Prep have been centring part of their learning over the last week around the theme of Dragons, to tie in with St George’s Day last Thursday, a topic which has certainly unleashed creativity amongst pupils and teachers alike!

Pupils have designed their own crests and shields to defend against dragons, created brightly coloured dragon masks and elaborate swords, used dragon stencils for face painting and dressed up as knights to defend their toys. There have even been some stunning cardboard box castles.

Adventurous dragon stories have been written, beautiful dragon artwork and Dragon Wanted posters crafted, whilst many pupils completed the Dragon Challenge, watched The Reluctant Dragon and read the How to Catch a Dragon and Room on the Broom stories!

Today, teacher Jennie Masters sent pupils a set of video instructions on how to make their very own magical ‘dragons’ eggs – we look forward to seeing the results!

Other topics this week have included unicorns, volcanoes and happy faces, which many pupils have designed and put up in the windows of their houses to make passers by smile.
