Private School Somerset Sixth Form Trip

Alfred the Great History Trip

On Monday, Sixth Form pupils studying History enjoyed a day visiting the key local sites associated with Alfred the Great’s campaign against the Vikings of 878, which included Athelney, Alfred’s Tower and the site of the Battle of Edington on Salisbury Plain above Westbury in Wiltshire. A good time was had by all – enlivened by two trips to farm shop cafes! The pupils were accompanied by Head of History, Chris Eldridge, History teacher Sam Broderick and Eva James, our PGCE student.
