Year 7 Cartographers Map The Combe
As part of their Thursday afternoon ‘909’ activities programme, a group of budding Year 7 cartographers visited The Combe, a nineteenth-century secret garden which lies to the north of the School.
Divided into small teams, the pupils were presented with their challenge: to produce as detailed a map of the area as possible, complete with symbols, colour coding, and a key. While each team’s map-maker planned the design, their hardy researchers scampered off into the (manicured) wilderness before reporting back on what they had seen.
Amidst the beautiful and inspiring surroundings, they produced a series of imaginative and informative maps, certain to help any visitor to the garden!
