Multi Use Games Area MUGA WCS Wells Cathedral Independent School Somerset England

MUGA Plaque

We are thrilled to have installed a plaque at our Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) thanking the generosity of donors to an Annual Fund for Sports with particular gratitude for support from The Parents and Friends’ Association, the Wellensian Association and an anonymous donor.

Sited at the top of Cedars Field, the MUGA is a 33m x 15m fully enclosed all-weather sports facility. It offers four cricket lanes for bowling and batting practice, alongside a further 15m x 15m open area that can be used for multiple sports activities, including skills practice for all main sports such as hockey, netball and football, PE activities such as boxercise and fencing, and other general fitness training. The MUGA is for all ages, and is being used by the whole School.

This year our Annual Fund is raising money to support pupils’ wellbeing through projects such as “The Haven” (a project that has been proposed by the pupils; it represents a safe haven that they can retreat to in moments of overwhelm, stress and anxiety), a bespoke Junior School wellbeing area to create a more mindful zone for pupils, equipment for wellbeing (including Forest School equipment, sensory room equipment and additional outdoor toys for the Junior School), and 30 tree saplings which will be planted around the School to further enhance the site for wellbeing purposes.
