The curtain closes on Annie

It was the most sensational evening of flair, energy and creativity and the very best showcase of so many hugely talented young performers who had been brilliantly choreographed and coached to give such a mature, assured and heartwarming performance.” – David Brown, Acting Chair of Governors

This year’s Years 7-9 production of Annie was a sight to behold; slick, professional, charming and endearing throughout.

The message that holding onto hope, belief and optimism when times are tough was deeply embedded as the cast told the story with an authenticity and skill that belied their young age.

All the characters were beautifully crafted, including the heart-tugging puppet Sandy, and the relationships touching.

The impressive set effortlessly transported us from the dinginess of the orphanage to the opulence of Warbucks’ mansion in the magical guise of a doll’s house.

The singing and dancing were second to none, providing ample opportunity for the young cast to exhibit their spectacular skill and energy through the brilliantly choreographed numbers and much loved songs.

An unforgettable highlight was the outstanding pupil band who played beautifully and effortlessly, setting the mood, tone and pace of the whole show!

This truly was an ensemble piece and it was apparent that everyone on stage was having the time of their lives, leaving the audience not only misty-eyed, but filled with the hope of tomorrow.
