CCF Biennial Inspection WCS Wells Cathedral School Independent Prep Somerset England

CCF Biennial Inspection

On Wednesday 4th October the Combined Cadet Force underwent their Biennial Inspection through the watchful eyes of the Reviewing Officer (RO) Commodore Rachel Singleton, herself an Old Wellensian.

The Inspection started with a fanfare from the Brass Section, a spine-tingling rendition from the Royal Marines Band Drumline and a precision drill display from The Rifles.

The Reviewing Officer then met representatives from the Royal Navy to talk about their sailing, band and wings courses along with Rifles Cadets reminiscing on summer camp and adventurous training.

After an address from the Reviewing Officer, the 90 or so Cadets spent the afternoon rotating through Battle Archery, Air Rifle, Field Gun, Laser Tag, Cadet Rifle and Field Craft stands whilst the Royal Navy coped with a Disaster Relief scenario in the pool.

Commodore Singleton commented favourably on the enthusiasm and involvement of the pupils as well as the leadership displayed by the Senior Cadets under the command of Cadet RSM Finn Beattie (Upper Sixth) and CPO Archie Spindler (Upper Sixth).

It was as much a reunion of Old Wellensians as it was an Inspection as Commodore Singleton was joined by OWs Commander Nick Charlesworth, Major Charlotte Sheaf and Captain Emily Smith.
