John Kenny Music Seminar
Trombone virtuoso John Kenny wowed our pupils, performing his own contemporary solo work La Belle et La Bête in Music Seminar.
The piece uses extended techniques galore and crosses over into theatre and even clowning!
John also worked with pupils in Masterclass sessions, as well as performing on the Carnyx, an ancient Celtic wind instrument, as part of an ongoing collaboration with String Orchestra.
Alex Laing, Director of Music, comments: “It has been a privilege to begin this collaboration with John Kenny. All of our musicians have new ideas to work with and the project for ancient horns, strings, harp and percussion will be such an adventure which everyone can enjoy in our Promenade Concerts in January.”
