Jazz in the Foyer
Our Senior Jazz Combo led the first ‘Jazz in the Foyer’ jam session of the year in the John Baxter Foyer.
These sessions provide a wonderful opportunity for our combo to try out new tunes and for less experienced players to join in and practice their improvisation skills in front of an audience. They were also joined by a number of local musicians who were keen to join the jam!
Mr Leaker, Co-ordinator of Jazz Studies, commented; “These sessions are a vital part of learning Jazz music as they give the opportunity to play with other musicians and practise communicating on stage as improvisers.”
