A Christmas Carolathon!
The pupil-led Wells Cathedral School Community Music Group – coordinated by Mr Chris Finch and Ms Laetitia Stott – was founded in September, and has gone from strength to strength. Pianists, guitarists and singers have performed across care homes each week, gaining valuable skills while entertaining residents.
Their busy Term of community music-making came to a climax on Tuesday 12 December, when they spent the day singing carols in ten locations across Wells. These included not only care homes but also doctors surgeries, primary schools, coffee shops and community centres.
Chris Finch, Head of Vocal, commented: “Watching our pupils grow in confidence as they interact with the residents on these visits has been so heartwarming. They have brought a smile to the faces of all who have heard them sing. This Term has been an amazing start to this project and one that we are all keen to see blossom and develop over the coming months.”
