Festive Music Galore!
At Wells, the run-up to Christmas provides plenty of opportunities to do one of the things we enjoy most: make music! Here are just two more examples of festive music from the final week of the Advent Term…
On Monday, members of chamber choir and string orchestra performed festive music at Yarlington Church to help the congregation raise money for the upkeep of their beautiful building. Music ranged from Rutter to Corelli and the large audience, wrapped up well, were hugely appreciative. One tribute from an audience member was: “The Music was superb; the choir and the Strings made a real impression on the audience and we were astonished at the quality and professionalism of the whole performance.”
Then, on Thursday, the boarders gathered to sing Carols outside Cedars after their House Parties to mark the last night of the Term. Accompanied by pupil brass players, all the boarders enjoyed renditions of ‘Silent Night’, ‘O Come, All Ye Faithful’ and ‘We Wish you a Merry Christmas’!
