Antonia Showering visit to Art Department

On Wednesday 7th February, Old Wellensian and leading contemporary figurative painter Antonia Showering visited the Art Department to have a tour of the Art studios in which she previously studied and to speak to some of our Sixth Form pupils about their work. Antonia made a big and really positive impression on our Upper Sixth artists, over half of whom have applied to Art and Design based higher education courses.

Antonia has also very kindly invited our pupils to see a current exhibition of her work at the Hauser and Wirth gallery in Bruton and to personally lead a guided tour of her paintings. A group of Lower Sixth and Art Scholar pupils will be visiting the gallery for this WCS exclusive experience on Wednesday 28th February, so watch this space!
