Pupils organise charity concert
Beth (Year 11) and Emily (Upper Sixth) organised a concert in aid of The Lighthouse School in Gaza.
Accompanied by Mr Drakett, they performed to a packed, candlelit church to raise money for this worthy cause. The Lighthouse School has sustained damage from a rocket attack and is currently decamped to two Christian compounds; the money raised will go towards supplying teaching staff with funds to provide food and other essentials for the children, many of whom have lost their homes and families. They raised £1850 alone from ticket sales with more donations still coming in!
One attendee commented, “It was an amazing evening and a privilege to be there. Opportunities to hear young talent of such an exceptional calibre are rare. Thank you so much to all involved. And all for such an important cause…”
