Recorder teacher Ms Knight features on Wicked movie soundtrack
Ms Knight (left) was very excited to be involved in the making of the soundtrack for the film version of Wicked!
Travelling to Air Studios in London last summer, she was asked to bring a variety of recorders and together with the other woodwind players tried out lots of instruments including tenors, basses, tiny recorders, ethnic flutes, renaissance recorders and even ocarinas to layer the sounds and create something ‘weird and funky’. She is not only featured in cues throughout the film, but in the show-stopping number Defying Gravity. She said, “It was definitely a very cool project to be a part of!”
