Wells tops Sunday Times list for Somerset secondary schools WCS Wells Cathedral School Independent Prep Somerset England

Sunday Times list best secondary schools – including Wells!

We are delighted to be ranked as the best Secondary School in Somerset outside of Bath in the Sunday Times, as highlighted in an article by the Somerset County Gazette. The list saw us hand-picked at number 451 out of the 709, topping Downside, Millfield and Taunton School.

This prestigious acknowledgment reflects the dedication and hard work of our pupils, staff and the entire School community. It also follows the recognition that ours was ranked the top Sixth Form in Somerset in a list of the top ten Colleges and Sixth Forms using data from the Department for Education.

Head Master Alastair Tighe comments:

It’s wonderful that the School and all we offer has been recognised in this way. Coming so soon after our ranking as the best school in Somerset for A level results last summer, this is another positive affirmation of the way we strive for excellence in all that we do. I’d like to thank pupils, staff and parents for helping ensure that this is so, since it really is one huge collective effort. I hope that accolades such as this will encourage even more people to come and find out about what makes Wells such a special place in which to learn and grow, and to consider becoming part of the Wells Cathedral School family.”

We are immensely proud of the education we offer and welcome anyone interested in finding out more about Wells Cathedral School to contact our Admissions team via e-mail on [email protected] or by phone on +44 (0)1749 834 441.
