Art Exhibition Visit to GBS Fine Art, Wells

During the first week of the Epiphany Term, Year 7-9 Art Scholars and Lower Sixth Art pupils visited GBS Fine Art, in Wells, to see the ‘Whose woods these are…’ landscape exhibition, featuring the work of four contemporary artists; Jeffrey Blondes, Sue Bryan, Keiron Leach and Magnus Petersson). Giles Baker-Smith, founding director of the gallery, talked to pupils informatively about the work on display as well as the broader work and practice of each artist. Pupils were able to view all work at close range to examine the techniques and handling of media employed, first hand. Pupils were also able to take photographs of the work that inspired them most, for use within their own studies.
