Jamie is one of the most outstanding cellists of his generation. He recorded the Dvorak and Schumann concertos with the Philharmonia and Vladimir Ashkenazy. Released in 2012, it completes a 10 concerto project with the Philharmonia which has won him international acclaim.
Jamie is a graduate of Wells Cathedral School and the Royal Northern College of Music. Calling the Yorkshire Moors his spiritual home, Jamie launched the North York Moors Chamber Music Festival – shortlisted this year for the prestigious Royal Philharmonic Society Award.
Jamie performs on a 1712 Guarneri and is renowned for his purity of tone, emotionally engaging interpretations and relentless commitment to the music he believes in.
