Lily Selected for England Hockey Camp
Congratulations to Year 10 student Lily who has been selected as one of only two girls from the West Region, and one of only 16 nationally, to take part in an England Hockey training camp in the May half term. Lily currently plays at Under 15 level for the South West Regional Performance squad based at Taunton.
The national camp will take place over four days at the end of May and will be based in Stoke, a central location to which the selected players will travel from Performance Centres right across the UK.
Four Wells students – Jack, Hugh and Lily who play at U15 level; and Megan who plays at U17 level – play hockey at Regional Performance Centre level for the West region, and all four played in cluster tournaments for their Taunton and Bristol teams over the Easter holidays.
The cluster tournaments are used as selection tournaments for the regional Futures Cup team. From these fixtures, players are selected to play for the Wessex Leopards, one of the four main UK regions.
