Primary Maths Challenge

In November, a number of Year 6 pupils took part in the Primary Maths Challenge, a national competition involving 67,000 children around the country. Two Wells Junior School pupils achieved a score of over 20 in the initial challenge, which ensured qualification for the Bonus Round in February.

Out of the 2,300 children who took part in this more demanding paper, both Wells pupils were awarded medals. Rosie was awarded a Silver medal and Joshua achieved the highest gold award, putting him in the top 105 children who attempted the challenge.

Head of Junior School maths, Jonathan Ward, said, “This was a fantastic achievement for both children – well done!”
