Netball Success for Lauren and Madison
Congratulations to Upper Sixth pupil Lauren Wilkinson, who has been selected for the Severn Stars National Performance League U19 long squad, following a series of trials in October.
Wells Head of Netball, Lisa Jarvis, said, “This is a huge achievement and will be a big commitment for Lauren involving travelling to Worcester twice a week to train and play with the squad. She works so hard on her netball and thoroughly deserves this success.”
The National Performance Leagues (NPL) are England Netball sanctioned competitions for both U19 & U21 squads designed to provide the game’s outstanding youth players with a performance environment with organised, highly disciplined intense competition against the English Vitality Netball Superleague franchises and any other invited teams.
Congratulations also to Year 11 pupil Madison Lewis who has been selected for the Team Bath Academy Development Centre.
The Team Bath Futures Pathway is made up of Academy Development Centres that run across the South West, allowing nearly 200 aspiring netballers – aged from 14 to 18 – to benefit from top-class coaching plus lifestyle and sports science support.
Lisa added, “The netball pathway is very competitive with hundreds of girls trialling for these squads and it’s brilliant to have two of our girls in the performance pathway.”
