County Cricket selections
A number of pupils are celebrating selection into the Somerset and Gloucestershire County Cricket Club pathways.
Congratulations to Emmott (Year 4, Somerset U10s), Ben Scott (Year 7, Somerset U12s), William Sharp (Year 8, Somerset U13s), Finley Sherred-Isles (Year 9, Gloucestershire U14s and the Emerging Player Pathway) Rory Stephen (Year 10, Somerset U15s), Tiger Sherred-Isles (Lower Sixth, Gloucestershire U18s) and Alex Scott (Upper Sixth, Gloucestershire U18s).
It was also absolutely lovely to hear that three of our Year 6 Prep School girls; Eliza, Cordelia, and Carys, were nominated for stage one of the Somerset County Cricket Club (SCCC) Pathway. A further congratulations to Cordelia and Carys who were successful in their trials and offered places in the Somerset County Cricket Club U11 girls’ squad for 2023/24. They will be starting their winter training in January.
Mr Webley, Director of Sport, commented; “We’re absolutely thrilled for this group of pupils to be selected in County age group squads. Gaining selection for Somerset and Gloucestershire Cricket is extremely competitive, which makes this achievement even more special. It’s a testament to how strong our Cricket programme is at Wells and how much the sport has grown over the past two years.”
