Wells remembers WCS Cathedral School Independent Prep Somerset England

Wells remembers

Our School community marked Armistice Day through Remembrance Services in the Cathedral and Cedars Hall, with performances of The Last Post by Milo B (Year 11), Gloria A (Year 6) and Charlie B (Upper Sixth), as well as Cole C (Year 10) in the Wells marketplace.

A Remembrance Service was also held on Remembrance Sunday; our Choristers and Chamber Choir took part in a devotional performance of Fauré’s Requiem featuring violinist Ruan S (Lower Sixth), and our CCF were part of the City of Wells Remembrance commemoration and parade – including bagpipers for the first time!

Additionally, a number of pupils performed The Last Post throughout the community: Gloria A (Year 6) in Meare, Lenny C-N (Year 7) in Winterborne Stickland, Mimi A (Year 8) in Doulting, Cole C (Year 10) in Ditcheat, Poppy W (Year 11) in Mells, Reuben A (Lower Sixth) in Wookey Hole, Ethan R (Lower Sixth) at St Cuthbert’s Church in Wells, Charlie B (Upper Sixth) in Maiden Bradley, Chescy H (Upper Sixth) at Wells Cathedral and Emma L (Upper Sixth) at our Cathedral Boarders’ Service.
