MATHEMATICS SCHOLARSHIPS

Every year we award a number of Scholarships to recognise current talent and potential in a wide variety of fields. In addition to a financial award, our Scholars receive enhanced educational opportunities and privileges to help them develop their talents. Criteria

For entry at Years 7, 9, 10 and Lower Sixth (NB., Year 10 is only applicable for external candidates)

Our Mathematics Scholarships are awarded to pupils with truly exceptional mathematical ability and potential.

Be a Specialist Mathematician for a Day

Candidates for entry at Year 7 are encouraged to attend one of our Be a Specialist Mathematician for a Day events. To register, please visit our Specialist Mathematicians page.

What to expect on the Scholarship Day

  • A CAT4 test
  • An interview with their Head of Year or a member of our Senior Management Team
  • A 30 minute problem solving Maths test (this is an open ended puzzle which you will not need to prepare for)
  • A one to one interview with the Head of Maths

Financial awards

Scholarship awards are based on current merit. All successful applicants will be awarded a 10% discount on tuition fees. For those candidates who are awarded two Scholarships, the second will be an Honorary Scholarship without an additional financial award.

Review process

All Mathematics Scholars will receive a formal review of their progress and performance in November of Year 9 and March of Year 11.
